Done and Done

Incredible news!!  Allam did it.  Everything went through and he is now legal to be here.  He told me that he will probably get to go home sometime after the new year.  He is so excited and thankful for all your support.

Thanks to everyone for their help.  If you would like to come celebrate, we will be at Red Door East* with Allam on Saturday night at 8 pm.

*CORRECTION: location changed to 12 south taproom (2318 12th avenue south).

We love Allam!

My name is John Blanton and I live in Nashville, TN and have known Allam for years.  Once, I told Allam that I liked his tie and he took it off and gave it to me.  He catered my wedding, helped in times of trouble, and insisted that he be given nothing in return.  We believe that he deserves to be legally identified as part of the community in which he is already socially and economically accepted.  Allam has done so much for the community-this is the community doing for Allam.

Please sign your name in the comments section if you agree with the above statement, and wish to notify our local government that Allam deserves to be here legally.

p.s. just to clarify: Allam has been trying to "make it legal" for years.  he's spent tons of money and time and, though he's legally allowed to be in the U.S., it's still not long-term.  He has an important court date coming up that could decide his fate.  As of now, if he goes home he isn't allowed to come back, which means while he's legal to be here he hasn't seen his family in years despite the fact that there have been a number of family emergencies and deaths in the family that he cannot attend without losing everything he has here.  Anyway, we are doing a petition of sorts just to say that Allam should be legally identified as part of the community he is already accepted into.  We will attempt to submit this to the appropriate people in power at that point.
